Real relent to Robinho

ChelseaReal Madrid have relented and given Robinho the green light to complete his transfer to Premier League title-chasers Chelsea.

Real official Ramon Calderon this week insisted he had no desire to sell the Brazil international, although his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, hinted the Spanish champions would be prepared to listen to offers in excess of £30million.

The 24-year-old could now get his wish and complete his move to Stamford Bridge after Real issued a statement last night saying they would never keep a player against his wishes.

"Real Madrid would never want to retain a player against his wishes and as a result they have no alternative but to accept his unilateral decision to rescind his contract if that is what the player wants," read the statement.
