Rivals eye £11m raid

Arsenal are reported to be lining up an ambitious £11million swoop for Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou in January.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger made a cheeky bid to land the Ivory Coast star in the summer but his Chelsea counterpart Luiz Felipe Scolari rejected the offer as he had only just taken charge and wanted to assess his squad.

However, the Gunners have maintained their interest in Kalou and reports claim Wenger will try his luck again when the transfer window opens in the new year.

Kalou has played a bit-part role since Scolari took charge and it is thought the Brazilian will be willing to let him go and use the cash to bring in his own transfer targets.
