Chelsea look set to miss out on Brazilian star Neymar when he eventually leaves Santos with a move to Spain his preferred choice.

The Blues have been heavily linked with the 20-year-old Samba star but reports claim they will be disappointed when the player leaves his homeland after the World Cup.

Neymar will stay with Santos until the 2014 competition which will be hosted in Brazil but is then likely to move on with Europe's big guns keen to take him on board.

However Real Madrid and Barcelona are favourites to do a deal and that means Chelsea will be left empty handed.

"Everyone knows that Neymar will stay in Brazil until the World Cup ? but also that in 2014 he will probably leave for Barcelona or Madrid," a Brazil insider is quoted as saying in the Sun.

England take on Brazil at Wembley in a friendly on Wednesday night and the talented star will no doubt be the centre of attention with scouts from all the top clubs flooding to see him.
