Sidwell move delay

Aston Villa may have to wait until next week until they can push through a deal for Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell.

Villa appeared to be closing in on a swoop for the former Reading man after agreeing to pay Chelsea in the region of £5million, however reports now claim that the two clubs have yet to settle on a fee.

Sidwell is still expected to sign for Villa after struggling to make an impact at Stamford Bridge, but it now looks like being next week at the earliest before a deal is completed.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill has already admitted it will be a struggle landing his top targets this summer and it looks as though the Sidwell deal is by no means straight forward.
