Mancester City are closing in on the signing of Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips after the player opted to leave Stamford Bridge. However, the former City favourite was said to be reluctant to return to the club where he made his name because of the uncertainty over owner Thaksin Shinawatra's future.
But now it is claimed he is undergoing tests ahead of a move back to the north west this summer.
