Toon linked with Ba raid

Newcastle could make a move to bring Demba Ba back to the club from Chelsea if they fail to keep hold of Loic Remy.

Remy is impressing while on loan at St James' Park but a permanent deal looks to be out of the question as Arsenal are ready to offer the QPR striker the chance to play Champions League football.

It means Alan Pardew will have to look elsewhere for a new striker and he could make a move for Ba, who has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge following his move from Newcastle.

Jose Mourinho will be willing to let Ba leave at the end of the season as he makes changes to his squad and, as long as the Magpies can come up with the cash, a deal could happen.

Ba was a huge hit on Tyneside when scoring 29 goals in 58 appearances and it comes as no surprise that Pardew wants to get him back on board.
