Torres linked with Falcao swap

Reports have resurfaced linking Fernando Torres with a return to Atletico Madrid in a deal that could see Radamel Falcao join Chelsea.

Roberto Di Matteo is keen to land Falcao but is unwilling to pay the £45million that Atletico are looking for and a swap deal could be the best solution for all concerned.

Paris St Germain and Manchester City are also interested in striking a deal but it is thought Atletico would prefer him to join Chelsea if it means they have a chance of re-signing Torres.

The Spaniard is still struggling to live up to expectations and hit the kind of form that made him a hero at Liverpool before he moved to Stamford Bridge, and a return to his homeland with Atletico would appeal.

Speculation over both players is sure to rumble on ahead of the January transfer window re-opening and it is unlikely to be the last time a swap deal is mentioned.
