Turks close on striker swoop

Last Updated: Thu, 10 Apr 2014 15:47

Besiktas are reported to have held talks with Samuel Eto'o and are ready to offer the Chelsea striker a two-year deal.

The Cameroon international only arrived from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala last summer when penning a one-year deal, but he looks to be heading for an early exit.

Eto'o has done well in his short time at Stamford Bridge, scoring more goals than any other striker, but Jose Mourinho looks willing to let him move on as he plans a huge overhaul of his strike force.

Besiktas are keen and the 33-year-old will no doubt be tempted by the offer of a bumper two-year contract before he starts to consider calling it a day.

The Turkish outfit are believed to have flown a delegation to London to open talks with Eto'o in the hope of getting a deal done as soon as possible.
