Way clear for Mancini move

Roberto Mancini has left Inter Milan and is hot favourite to take the Chelsea job even though his agent has played down the rumours.

Despite winning three Serie A titles during his time at the San Siro, Mancini has been ousted amid reports that former Blues boss Jose Mourinho is ready to takeover.

Mancini is now free to take the Chelsea job but his agent Maurizio De Giorgis still claims there has not been any contact with Blues officials over the position.

Now that Mancini is available Roman Abramovich is expected to make contact with De Giorgis to see if the Italian would be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.

Mancini has admitted he is keen to try his luck in England and Chelsea are sure to be a big pull for him. Frank Rijkaard's name continues to be linked but Mancini now looks to be the new favourite.
