Hanks not cast away by Robins

Teenager Joe Hanks has signed a one-year deal with Cheltenham.

The midfielder's new contract came about after an impressive loan spell at Gloucester City, followed by two strong performances for the Robins at the end of the season.

Hanks is a graduate of Cheltenham's academy and signed his first professional contract last summer.

"I just continued playing my football and I was lucky enough to be given an opportunity at the end of the season," Hanks told the club's official website.

"I'll work hard over pre-season, hopefully impress and then you never know I may get a start out."
