Chesterfield defender Nathan Smith has made his return from injury in a 3-2 reserve team win at Hull.

Smith has been out since the end of August after requiring ankle surgery but the left-back played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday evening.

John Dungworth, who was in charge of the side, told the club's official website: "It was good to see Nathan Smith play for the full game after being out for a few months. I thought he was outstanding."

Hull twice went ahead but Chesterfield equalised through Jacob Hazel and Scott Boden before on-loan winger Micah Evans scored a late winner for the Spireites' second string, who have now won four of their five games this season.
