Craig Westcarr could return to the Chesterfield squad for the trip to Bury.
Westcarr has missed the last six matches in all competitions after suffering an ankle injury during the home defeat to Exeter on January 7. The postponement of the visit of League One leaders Charlton on Saturday has increased Westcarr's chances of being involved and manager John Sheridan could even restore the forward to the starting line-up.
However, he will face competition from new signing Nicky Ajose. The former Manchester United trainee made his debut as a second-half substitute in the defeat at Carlisle nine days ago after arriving on loan from Peterborough for the remainder of the season.
Ajose was part of the Bury squad that won promotion along with Chesterfield last season, scoring 13 goals in 28 appearances during a loan spell at Gigg Lane.
On-loan defender James Hurst and midfielder Mark Allott may also have recovered from knocks they sustained against Carlisle, while French midfielder Jimmy Juan is progressing well as he bids to overcome a calf injury.
Meanwhile, Chesterfield's home game against Charlton has been rearranged for February 28. The match is on a Tuesday night and will kick-off at 7.45pm.
