Coleman looks to the future

CoventryChris Coleman believes his capture of Iceland youngster Aron Gunnarsson proves he is in it for the long haul at Coventry.

Coleman has made no secret of his desire to assemble a young and hungry Sky Blues squad to avoid another season battling against the Championship drop.

At just 19, Coleman is confident Gunnarsson's best years are ahead of him - and he hopes to be around to reap the rewards.

Coleman explained to the Coventry Evening Telegraph: "I want to be here for a few years to come and I want a good young team that progresses with me.

"I don't want to leave in a year or two having spent money on 32 or 33-year-olds who are here for 12 months looking for a last year or two.

"I want hungry players who want to succeed."
