"I wanted 15 points from 10 and we have got that and we can say that's a good start and I am very pleased with that," he told the Evening Telegraph.
"If we had got anything less than three points it would have been a travesty because we created a lot of chances and played some exciting football, and it was a great victory.
"In all honesty, we have been creating chances in every one of the last four or five games, so it was nice to convert four of them but it could have been eight."
Coleman added: "I think it is unrealistic to think we are going to win 4-1 every time at home and create those chances, but we played a certain way against a team that play a certain way, and our boys responded very well."
