Coventry have strengthened their squad with the capture of West Brom defender Leon Barnett on loan until the end of January.

The centre back, who turns 24 this month, has struggled to establish himself in the Baggies first team since the arrival of Roberto Di Matteo at the Hawthorns.

Barnett did feature regularly in the Premier League last season, though, and Chris Coleman is pleased to add to his defensive options.

Although the defender is due to remain at the Ricoh Arena until into the new year, the Baggies have put a clause in the deal which will give them the right to recall Barnett after 28 days.
