Keeper target snared

Coventry's imminent signing of Carlisle keeper Keiren Westwood has seen them drop their interest in Man City's Kaspar Schmeichel.

Westwood is poised to swap Brunton Park for the Ricoh Arena which means the Sky Blues will no longer pursue an interest in former loan man Schmeichel.

Westwood was part of the Republic of Ireland's squad this summer and caught the eye in the Cumbrians' march to the League One play-offs.

Coventry were set to unveil the 23-year-old at midday on Wednesday.
