More striker woe for Sky Blues

CoventryCoventry are tipped to miss out on another striker target with Crystal Palace's Clinton Morrison determined to stay in London.

Morrison has been offered a new two-year deal by Palace but Eagles boss Neil Warnock cannot guarantee the Republic of Ireland international first-team football so he is assessing his options.

The Sky Blues have already seen a move for Freddy Eastwood break down this week and it appears, if Morrison is going to leave Selhurst Park on a free transfer, he will only contemplate fellow suitors QPR or Reading.

Ricoh Arena chief Chris Coleman will hope his powers of persuasion will be strong enough to change the hitman's mind.
