New boys set for Sky Blues debuts

CoventryDefender Stephen Wright has joined Coventry and could make his debut along with new striker Clinton Morrison against Norwich City.

Former Liverpool full-back Wright was available on a free transfer after being released by Sunderland at the end of last season. However, following a summer of training with the Sky Blues, boss Chris Coleman has offered him a contract.

He said: "Stephen is a quality full-back and plays in a position that we needed to fill.

"His experience will help some of our younger players and he is a great lad."

Former Crystal Palace and current Republic of Ireland frontman Morrison has finalised his two-year deal at the Ricoh Arena and is now set to link up with fellow new boy Freddy Eastwood in attack against the Canaries.

Morrison said: "I'm definitely looking forward to linking up with Freddy but there's a lot of good strikers here with Leon Best, Robbie Simpson and Leon McKenzie.

"Leon McKenzie and me were strike partners at Crystal Palace and we played well together. He's been ringing me up every day telling me to sign.

"Whoever I play with I just want to help Coventry get back to the Premier League where they should be."
