Coventry boss Mark Robins has called for patience from City fans as he attempts to lift the gloom around the Ricoh Arena.

Robins admitted the Sky Blues didn't do themselves any favours losing to Brentford in front of an improved crowd, but insists the supporters must give them time.

"There were a few who came back to watch on Saturday and that was the disappointment because we had more in," he told the Coventry Telegraph.

"But I just say to them keep coming because things will change and will keep improving. We need the supporters to stay with it because otherwise the anxiety creeps on to the pitch and they'll start slashing at things and it will go back to football we don't want to see.

"Playing in front of the home fans is magnificent, especially when there are a lot in there because the atmosphere is much better.

"But, in fairness, away from home we're getting great travelling support and I think one or two people are seeing signs of improvement and that's what we all want, and we're all united in moving towards better football, winning football and climbing the league."
