Coventry manager Mark Robins has urged his players to improve their performances as the Sky Blues seek to rise the npower League One table.

City have won six of the 13 games played in all competitions since Robins took over at the Ricoh Arena in September, including victories in the Johnstone Paint Trophy and FA Cup.

But with the side sitting just one point above the relegation places ahead of their trip to bottom-placed Hartlepool at the weekend, Robins has issued a rallying call to his players.

He told the Coventry Telegraph: "The players have got to be better. We have to make sure we are good enough.

"People have got to earn their future and it's time to stand up to the plate.

"They have got to be the best that they can possibly be and that means on a daily basis they come in and give their all for themselves, their families and the club."
