Coventry's Republic of Ireland striker Leon Best is in talks over a transfer deadline day move to Newcastle.
Best is out of contract in the summer but is unwilling to commit himself to a new deal and the Sky Blues are looking to cash in on the striker while they can.
The 23-year-old was previously reportedly to be on the verge of signing for Newcastle's rivals Middlesbrough but the Magpies are now likely to win the race for the player's signature.
Best, who signed from Southampton in 2007, has played 29 appearances so far this season for the Sky Blues, scoring 10 goals.
