Striker Luke Varney says he is happy to see out the rest of his current contract at Crewe and dismissed reports of a move to Derby.
The 24-year-old 13-goal marksman has attracted plenty of interest from clubs in the Championship when it became apparent that he would not be signing a new deal to stay at Gresty Road beyond this season.
That led to recent speculation linking Varney to the Rams, while boss Billy Davies confirmed that the player was one of a number of possible January transfer window targets.
However Varney has now spoken out to deny the claims. He told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "While it is nice to hear speculation, if I didn't hear anything else I'd be happy to stay at Crewe until the end of my contract.
"I've not got an agent, although I have had a lot of calls trying to get me to sign. I just told them I am concentrating on my football."
