Luke Murphy capped a fantastic individual season by being named in the League One Team of the Year.
Alex skipper Murphy netted his ninth goal of the season from the penalty spot on Saturday as a starting XI made up entirely of graduates from the club's famed youth academy closed the campaign with a 2-0 win over Walsall.
The 23-year-old opened the scoring at Wembley in stunning fashion when the Railwaymen picked up the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at the expense of Southend earlier this month and he came fourth in the overall League One player of the season voting.
On-loan Arsenal youngster Chuks Aneke came off the bench to complete the scoring against the Saddlers at the weekend and the attacking midfielder is grateful for the valuable experience he has gained during a productive campaign at Gresty Road.
"It was good to end the season on a high," he told Crewe's official website. "I think it (the Walsall win) was brilliant. I've got a lot of love for the Crewe Academy and the way they bring players through to the first team.
"Coming here has done me the world of good. I was an Under-21 at Arsenal and I'm so pleased with how the season has gone. It has been ups and downs and to cap it off with a couple of goals I am grateful.
"The fans have been good to me. I wish I did get the tap-ins but I am pleased with the goals I have scored, I should have had more if I am honest.
"I just want to enjoy my football wherever that is next year, that's what I am looking for now."
