New boys up first for Alex

Crewe will face Sky Bet League One new boys Fleetwood on the opening day of the season on August 9.

The Railwaymen travel to a side playing in the third tier for the first time in their history, a feat they achieved thanks to a goal from former Crewe midfielder Antoni Sarcevic at Wembley last month.

The first home game for Steve Davis' men sees Barnsley visit on August 16 while Rochdale, promoted out of League Two alongside Fleetwood, make the trip three days later.

Crewe's first meeting with bitter rivals Port Vale comes at Gresty Road on September 13 with the reverse fixture on January 24 while the Alex finish the season at home against Bradford on May 2.
