Adam Dugdale has vowed to shore up the leaky defence of Crewe Alexandra on his return to the club.
Dugdale is back at Gresty Road following his one-month loan at local rivals Tranmere and with fellow defender Harry Davis out with a knee injury, is expected to go straight into the team to face Notts County. Crewe will be hoping for an immediate defensive improvement after shipping 21 goals in nine games.
Dugdale said: "It's been disappointing watching Crewe's results but it is good to be back. I am a winner, I have a winning mentality and hopefully that can rub off on a few of the lads. I am not shy to say a few harsh words if need be.
"I walked into the changing room and all the lads started clapping, saying the 'main man' is back and calling me 'the general' so there was a bit of banter.
"I've played for the club nearly 100 times and had a lot of success here so it won't be hard for me to go back in.
"I'll try to be a leader and organise the lads. Everyone knows I give 110% every game."
The 26-year-old's leadership qualities will be vital in trying to galvanise the youthful Crewe squad, which is currently only a point above the relegation zone.
