Max Clayton and Ryan Colclough are pushing to be involved when Crewe make the short trip to Shrewsbury in npower League One.

England Under-19 striker Clayton is still nursing a calf problem and teenage winger Colclough is back in training after sustaining a broken jaw on his second professional appearance, but the game may come too soon for both of them.

Kelvin Mellor and Michael West remain doubts having missed last weekend's dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Colchester with respective calf and knee problems, while forward Ajax Leitch-Smith (ankle) remains on the sidelines.

"I'm expecting a tough challenge because they're scrapping for points, they're battling away," Alex boss Steve Davis told Press Association Sport.

"The manager (Graham Turner) is under a little bit of pressure, so that's always dangerous when you go to those places where they're looking to win games and get themselves going again."
