Australia have beaten Pakistan by two runs in a one-off T20, meaning the tourists have failed to win a single match on the tour.
Having lost the Tests series 3-0 and succumbed 5-0 in the one-day series, the Asians were hoping to salvage some pride with victory in the final match of the tour.
And they got close to the host nation, with the Aussies turning round a losing position to seal victory by just two runs thanks to superb bowling from rejuvenated paceman Shaun Tait.
The giant fast bowler took 3-13 from four overs and was clocked at speeds in excess of 100mph - some of the fastest bowling ever witnessed in international cricket.
Having won the toss, Australia skipper Michael Clarke opted to bat first but witnessed a below-par showing from his side.
The captain made 32, while David Hussey finished unbeaten on 40 but, David Warner's 24 aside, no other batsman reached double figures, with Umar Gul taking 3-20 as the hosts were dismissed for 127 in 18.4 overs.
Wickets tumbled steadily as Pakistan chased their target, with Tait sending down thunderbolts to take out three of the first five batsmen.
Kamran Akmal was the one man who resisted for the visitors, hitting seven fours and two sixes in his rapid 64, but when he was fifth out with the score on 98, it became a different game.
Brother Umar Akmal made 21 but wickets fell in the final few overs and 10 runs were required from the final six deliveries - bowled by Shane Watson.
Akmal was bowled with the first delivery of the final over and, despite Mohammad Asif hitting the last ball for four, Australia held on for the victory.
Pakistan will now have to regroup as they face England in two T20 matches in Dubai, on February 19 and 20.
