England will miss Harmy - Harker

CricketDurham chief executive David Harker says he thinks England will find it hard to beat South Africa without Steve Harmison in the team.

Harmison was recalled to the squad after rediscovering his form in county cricket this season, but he was omitted from the starting XI for the third Test which started at Edgbaston today.

England opted to go into the game with just four recognised bowlers in the attack as they bid to bounce back from their Headingley defeat, which leaves them 1-0 down in the series.

The 29-year-old Harmison, who has 41 first-class wickets this season, appears to have rediscovered his pace and control but was still left out by Peter Moores, a decision that Harker disagrees with.

"I'm disappointed for Steve that he's not in the side. He has bowled extremely well for us all season and we've been delighted with his form," he said.

"We have seen enough of him this year to know that it will be difficult for England to win without him.

"I'm sure it will only be a question of time before he's back in the England side."
