KP concerns over Pakistan trip

CricketKevin Pietersen has voiced his own concerns about travelling to Pakistan and wants the ECB to make up the players' minds.

September's ICC Champions Trophy has been given the go-ahead by the sport's ruling body but there is still the threat of a boycott by Australia, New Zealand and England because of security fears.

England's premier batsman has now admitted he is worried about taking part and told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I've definitely got reservations - 100% - about going to Pakistan.

"I don't think pressure should be put on any individual, especially when you realise your life could be at risk."

The Hampshire ace is hopeful that England's cricket chiefs will decide to take the responsibility away from the players, although he will make his decision if needs be.

"The ECB are coming together on - I think - August 3 or 4, having spoken to (chief executive) David Collier this morning, and he reassured me that the decision will probably be taken out of the players' hands, which is great," he added.

"If it's taken out of the players' hands then great. If not, then I'll certainly make a decision."
