Former England captain Michael Vaughan will be part of England's performance programme in India later this month.
The 34-year-old was not named in the original 15-man squad for the upcoming series but is set to fly out on November 21 to team up with the rest of the party.
Vaughan, who received a central contract in September despite taking a three-month break from the game following his decision to step down as skipper in August, still believes he has a future in Test cricket and is hoping to feature against the West Indies and Australia in 2009.
The England performance squad will be led by Kent's Robert Key while spinner Monty Paneser, whose plans to play club cricket in Sri Lanka fell through, will also team up alongside Vaughan.
