West Indies have levelled the one-day series with India after a comfortable eight-wicket victory in Kingston.
Set just 189 for victory, the hosts cruised home with more than 15 overs to spare thanks to superb knocks from Chris Gayle (64) and Renako Morton, who finished unbeaten on 85.
But it was the Windies' bowlers who did the early damage, reducing the visitors to 7-3 and 82-8, as Ravi Rampaul, with 4-37 and Jerome Taylor, who returned figures of 4-35, running through the top order.
Dwayne Bravo then picked up three wickets late on and things would have been far worse for the Asian giants but for a stand of 101 between MS Dhoni (95) and RP Singh, who made 23.
Yuvraj Singh (35) was the only other Indian batsman to reach double figures and the score of 188 never seemed enough. And when Gayle hit his runs from just 46 deliveries, with eight fours and two sixes, it was virtually all over as a contest.
Morten showed his class with five fours and one six in his 102-ball unbeaten innings and the players will reconvene in St Lucia on Friday for the third game of the four-match series.
