Jacob Butterfield admits he would be happy to extend his loan spell at Crystal Palace if he is not in the first-team picture at Norwich.

The midfielder has joined Palace on an initial month-long deal and made his debut in last Saturday's goalless draw against his former club Bolton.

Norwich have let the 22-year-old move out on loan to get a run of games and build up his fitness, and Butterfield hopes to play his part in Palace's promotion push.

"I'd like to think Norwich want me back in the picture, that's up to them," he said.

"But I'm happy to be here, I'm happy playing football and I've enjoyed it so far.

"The team is at the right end of the league and it's an exciting time down here, so if I can be a part of that for longer then that would be great."
