Crystal Palace defender Danny Butterfield is still relishing his six minute hat-trick against Wolves in the FA Cup on Tuesday night.

The defender was pushed into the front line by boss Neil Warnock because of a lack of numbers and went on to net his treble and now he is wondering if he should have been playing up front all his life.

"I just can't stop laughing and the lads keep laughing at me," Butterfield told the Telegraph.

"I'm starting to think I've had 12 years of my career playing in the wrong position. It's not something I had ever imagined would happen. I normally get one goal every three seasons, certainly not three in one night. I've never had this many people wanting to talk to me."
