Crystal Palace have suffered a blow on the injury front with the news that Rhoys Wiggins could miss the start of the new season.
The 21-year-old left-back has undergone surgery on a knee problem to clear up the joint and hopefully end all his injury worries.
The former Wales Under-21 international sustained a cruciate ligament injury on the same knee during Palace's pre-season campaign in 2006 and the hope is that this operation will bring an end to his problems.
Wiggins is out of a contract in a month but has been offered a new one-year deal although as yet he has not signed anything.
