Crystal Palace have, as expected, been deducted ten points by the Football League for going into administration.

On Thursday morning the Football League issued the following statement regarding the club's league position: "Following receipt of formal confirmation that Crystal Palace Football Club has gone into administration, the Football League can confirm that a Sporting Sanction of ten points will apply with immediate effect.

"The deduction ends Palace's hopes of making the play-offs and they now sit just one place and three points above the drop zone."
