Crystal Palace want to sign Dundee United forward Johnny Russell as a long-term replacement for the departing Wilfried Zaha.
The 22-year-old Russell has attracted interest from SPL champions Celtic during the transfer window and it is now reported that the Eagles are lining up a bid for the Terrors striker to replace Zaha.
Russell has scored nine times already this season, and the Tannadice side value him at around £1.8 million.
England international Zaha recently agreed a move to Premier League leaders Manchester United, for a fee thought to be in the region of £15m, but will stay at Selhurst Park until July 2013.
Palace boss Ian Holloway has been on the lookout for recruits, but has had bids turned down this month, with offers for Swindon's Matt Ritchie and Bristol City's Albert Adomah understood to have been rejected.
Holloway did have a bid accepted for Sheffield United striker Nick Blackman however, but Blackman snubbed the opportunity to talk to the Eagles, having only moved to Bramall Lane last summer.
Former Chelsea youngster Alistair Gordon has signed a one-year professional deal for Palace after moving on from Stamford Bridge.
