Freedman hints at Whites switch

C PalaceStriker Dougie Freedman has revealed he would leave Crystal Palace for Leeds on a permanent basis, but ruled out another loan move.

The 34-year-old former Scotland international hitman enjoyed a fairly successful three-month loan stint at Elland Road last season when his six goals helped guide Gary McAllister's men to the League One play-off final where they lost out to Doncaster Rovers.

As reported earlier this week, Freedman has no idea what the future holds for him at Selhurst Park after falling out of favour with Eagles boss Neil Warnock and not yet speaking to him on his return.

However, when questioned if he would consider another loan switch to Leeds, Freedman dismissed the prospect, but admitted a full-time move would be appealing.

"I'm very open-minded about Leeds," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "I don't have a clue what my future holds but I really enjoyed my time there and I know better than to rule anything out.

"One thing I have closed the door on is another loan at Leeds.

"If I was to move to Leeds or another club that's further away, I'd have to do it right and do it properly - it would have to be permanent. It's not easy being detached from your family for three months, and I don't think it's very fair on them."
