Injury blow for Fletcher

Injured Crystal Palace midfielder Carl Fletcher will miss the start of pre-season but should be fit for the new campaign.

The Wales international has ankle ligament damage picked up on international duty in May and he will not be ready for the start of pre-season but hopefully will be fit for the big kick-off.

Assistant boss Mick Jones told the Advertiser: "I spoke to Carl on Tuesday and he won't be ready for the start of pre-season -- we just have to be careful with him.

"But he is nearly there and we expect him to start training again quite soon."
