Palace keeper Darryl Flahavan says he will not accept sitting on the bench for the entire season and wants to be number one.He told the Advertiser: "When I spoke to the gaffer he told me straight what was happening. He wanted me to come in as competition and fight with Julian [Speroni] for the shirt.
"I knew that I wouldn't start against Watford which I didn't have a problem with, but I like a challenge.
"Julian's a quality goalkeeper and to work with that everyday can only improve me.
"I'm not here to just accept that I'm not playing I want to work hard. I think if I get my head down and wait for my chance I'm confident I can do the job."
