Crystal Palace are locked in talks with West Brom over a move for Peter Odemwingie but are struggling to agree a fee.
Palace are keen to land the Nigerian forward and the Baggies are willing to let him leave but a deal is still some way from being completed as they haggle over the fee.
Odemwingie will be available on a free transfer in 12 months when he falls out of contract at the Hawthorns and Palace are unwilling to offer more than £2million, while Albion hold out for closer to £2.5million.
There has also been talk of a loan deal with a view to a permanent switch but for now the move is on hold as Palace are in no rush and are willing to bide their time.
The 31-year-old would jump at the chance of a move to Selhurst Park but he will have to wait while the two clubs try and reach a compromise.
