Palace consider Cole swoop

Last Updated: Tue, 14 Jan 2014 07:54

Crystal Palace are considering a move for Carlton Cole, who could walk away from West Ham after his short-term deal expired.

Palace boss Tony Pulis is keen to sign a new striker during the January transfer window and could make a move for Cole, a player he wanted to sign when in charge at Stoke.

The Hammers are trying desperately to keep hold of Cole as they will be left short in attack if he does leave, and Sam Allardyce has put retaining him at the top of his to do list.

However Cole has options with both Palace and Queens Park Rangers chasing his signature and it could come down to which club offers him the best deal.

Cole has hit form at just the right time and grabbed the opening goal in the crucial 2-0 win at Cardiff, to add to his strikes against Fulham, Manchester United and Arsenal.
