Crystal Palace are thought to have made an offer for Bordeaux defender Florian Marange but face competition from Stoke and Genoa.
The 27-year-old was a regular in the Girondins' squad last season and is seen as a valuable asset by the French team due to his ability to play anywhere across the back four.
Stoke and Palace are keen to improve their defensive options and according to reports in France both clubs have made enquiries into Marange's availability.
Marange's current contract with Bordeaux will expire next month and so far he has shown no signs of penning a new deal with the six-time Ligue 1 champions.
The former France Under-21 international could be tempted by the chance to play in England and Palace might have the edge as they could offer him first team football.
