Petrescu desperate for Eagles job - agent

Dan Petrescu is desperate to take the vacant Crystal Palace job and hopes a deal can be sorted, according to the Romanian's agent.

Palace co-chairman Steve Parish says he hopes to make an appointment today and former Chelsea star Petrescu is the hot favourite to take the Eagles hot seat.

There is an issue with Petrescu's current club Dinamo Moscow, who are said to want in the region of £2million in compensation before allowing him to leave for England.

Whether or not Palace have managed to agree compensation should soon be revealed, but Petrescu's agent Victor Bacali is confident a deal will happen.

"It's very important for Dan to take over at Palace," Bacali revealed. "He wants that to happen and I think it will."

Tony Pulis was also said to be in the frame but reports have claimed the former Stoke boss has turned it down.
