R's move elementary for Watson

QPR are believed to be closing in on the signing of Crystal Palace ace Ben Watson, who could cost around £2million.

Reports claim the 23-year-old has been told he can leave Palace and a whole host of Championship clubs are said to be chasing his services before the transfer window closes.

Ipswich are understood to be one of those clubs, having allowed their striker Alan Lee to join the Eagles this week, but the R's could beat them to the chase.

Watson is believed to be keen to stay in the London area and will appeal to him to link up again with his former Selhurst Park boss, Iain Dowie.
