Striker set for crunch talks

C PalacePalace striker Dougie Freedman is set for crunch talks with boss Neil Warnock to sort out his future before the end of the month.

Freedman spent the end of last season on loan at Leeds but a move to the Yorkshire side on a permanent basis does not appear to appeal as he does not want to uproot his family but he needs to speak to Warnopck to establish if he has a future at Selhurst Park. "I just need to hear what Neil's got to say and weigh up my options,"said Freedman in an interview with the South London Press.

"I've got a year to go on my contract and I need to decide if I'll fight for my place - I have changed previous Palace bosses' minds in the past.

"I know Iain Dowie and Peter Taylor both told me I might not be in their plans and I ended up signing new contracts. But it's about getting the opportunity to show what I can do.

"I don't need to prove myself at Palace but I need to prove myself to Neil Warnock. The last thing I want to do is dig my heels in and stop the likes of Victor Moses and Sean Scannell coming through, but on the other hand I do think I can offer something."
