Striker's future up in the air

C PalaceDougie Freedman's Crystal Palace future is in doubt after he revealed he has not spoken to boss Neil Warnock since last season.

Freedman still has a year left on his contract at Selhurst Park but remains in the dark about whether he figures in Warnock's plans for the coming season.

The 34-year-old Scot spent the final three months of last season on loan at Leeds where he scored five goals in 11 appearances, but he has revealed he wants to stay at Palace to see out the remaining 12 months on his contract.

Freedman told the Advertiser: "I've not spoken to Neil Warnock since the end of the season. I've heard that there's a meeting scheduled but I've not heard from the manager. As far as I know I'm still reporting for pre-season training on July 2.

"I want to stay at the club, that's for sure. If the manager turns round to me and says he wants me to fight for my place then I will do that. But if he tells me that there's no chance of me playing then I'll have to look elsewhere."
