Teen striker on trial

C PalaceCrystal Palace are leading the chase for non-league starlet Jerson Dos Santos, according to his agent Tony Finnegan.

The 17-year-old striker is on trial at Palace after scoring over 30 goals in his first season with Conference south club Sutton United.

Dos Santos, who has Portuguese heritage, only began playing football two years ago and his rise from Sunday League football has been meteoric.

Finnegan, who used to play for Palace, says Neil Warnock is in the driving seat to sign the youngster ahead of interest from Portsmouth, Fulham, Charlton, QPR, Norwich and Ipswich.

He said: "He is currently at Crystal Palace and to be honest it would be a great move for him to go there, they have a young and talented squad and you know if you do well there you will get your chance."
