Watson exit draws near

C PalacePalace midfielder Ben Watson was pulled out of a friendly match with Bodmin Town after the club received two enquiries for him.

After rejecting a record breaking contract offer to stay at Selhurst Park the 22-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs with QPR already having a bid of £1.25m rejected.

A move for the player looks to be imminent with QPR said to be ready with a fresh bid but there is also interest from Birmingham and Nottingham Forest.

Speaking to the Advertiser after the pre-season friendly at Bodmin, Warnock told the Advertiser: "We've had one or two further enquiries which was why I pulled him out tonight - I didn't want to risk him."
