Watson future uncertain

C PalaceCrystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has played down reports linking midfielder Ben Watson with a move to Nottingham Forest.

It was claimed that the 23-year-old was due to move to the City Ground in a £2million deal but Warnock claims to know nothing about it.

Warnock said on Saturday: "I saw he's been sold today - I thought somebody might have told me!"

However, Warnock has made it clear the player does not feature in his future plans after refusing to sign a contract extension.

He said: "He's a good lad but once he made himself clear and I signed Nick Carle I have to look after the team that's going to play."

Watson has 12 months left on his current deal and is reported to be keen to move to Championship rivals QPR, but as yet they have not met Palace's valuation.
