Derry told the Advertiser: "There is a lot of speculation and rightly so because he's a great player. I love playing in the midfield with Ben, so if and when he goes I'll miss him.
"But while he's here he's a great addition to the team, scoring and creating goes.
"The situation's out of our hands, but Ben's great to have around. He's like part of the furniture.
"Whether he goes in January or not, we have got half a chance of being promoted. We'd like to keep him because he'd made the difference.
"I think he's on top of his game. He's a very intelligent footballer. For me the sky is his limit."
